IABC Tampa Bay Board of Directors

IABC/Tampa Bay’s board is ratified each year by chapter membership. All paid members are invited to nominate members and vote in the new slate. Throughout the year the all-volunteer board meets monthly to discuss chapter business and new initiatives. All IABC Tampa Bay members are welcome to attend any board meeting. The board of directors for IABC/Tampa Bay is comprised of volunteers who serve two-year terms beginning January of each year.

Louis Ricca
President

         Lou has been an IABC member for six years and currently serves as President of the Tampa Bay chapter. His leadership involvement began in 2007 when he served as the Education Chair for the IABC Southern Region Conference held in Tampa, Fla. He then served as Co-Vice President of Sponsorship in 2008 and Vice President of Finance in 2009 for the Tampa Bay chapter.
 
Lou is an experienced speechwriter and employee communications professional. He works in the corporate communications department at Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, Fla. A native Floridian, Lou lives in Brandon with his wife Kristin, daughter Haley and Golden Retriever Chloe.    

 
 
VP Professional Development: Jan Drennan
Jan Drennan, an accredited business communicator (ABC), serves as lead editor in the Content Development and Editorial Services group in the Knowledge Services Organization at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. In this role, Jan serves as a strategic advisor for the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences practice, working closely with marketing and client service staff to analyze complex industry issues and communicate solutions to clients.
 
A long-time IABC member, Jan has more than 30 years of professional writing, editing, issues management and public relations experience. Her work has won national, regional and state awards from the National Federation of Press Women, International Association of Business Communicators and Public Relations Society of America.
 
Jan lives in Palm Harbor, Florida, with her husband, Jim, and three cats, Gigi, Jiggy and Oreo. Her daughter, Dee Anna, is a practicing attorney in Tampa.
 
VP Accreditation: Jim Marzano
Jim Marzano is an accredited business communicator (ABC) with more than 20 years of successful public affairs and organizational communications experience as a strategic advisor and practitioner.
 
He is an experienced corporate spokesperson and has broad experience in planning, developing and implementing internal and external communications that have a positive impact on brand loyalty. Jim currently serves as Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc. (AAPS), headquartered in Tampa. He has been a member of IABC since 1987.

Recognition Chair / Bronze Quill: Toni Whitt

Toni has been a communications professional and award-winning journalist for more than 20 years. Over the past four years she covered business news and then transitioned into corporate communications working in Internal Communications.  She joined IABC a year ago and immediately realized the benefits of membership.

 

Toni’s work has won recognition from the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors, the Virginia Press Association and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
