Job Summary:
Under general supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to assist in coordinating communication services, programs and activities and conceptualizing, creating, writing and editing marketing communications for an assigned functional area to support the implementation of marketing strategies. Detailed instructions and established procedures and prescribed guidelines are provided to perform a variety of tasks requiring some evaluation, originality or ingenuity in making routine decisions. Recommends solutions to moderately complex problems. Extensive contact with internal customers and external contacts is required to assist in marketing products and services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in creating marketing materials in accordance with established corporate style and image.
- Writes assigned portions of print publications, including newsletters, brochures and manuals.
- Writes information for reports, press releases and collateral and product support materials, as assigned.
- Proofreads and edits copy written by subject matter experts.
- May assist with market research and analyses.
- May assist others in preparing presentations.
- Maintains currency in marketing communications concepts, practices and techniques.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Marketing goals, objectives and strategies.
- Concepts, principles, practices and techniques for writing and developing marketing materials.
- Investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
- Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.
- Financial markets and products.
Skill in:
- Creating marketing materials with established communication style and image.
- Writing newsletters, brochures, manuals reports, press releases and collateral and product support materials.
- Proofreading copy written by others.
- Conducting market research and analysis.
- Preparing presentations.
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including standard graphics and publishing software.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field and one (1) year experience in marketing or public relations in a financial services environment, including using standard graphics and publisher software preferred.
