<p><font color="#3a3a3a" size="2">Although problems and opportunities that require a communication intervention will arise unexpectedly, it&rsquo;s a good idea to create at least a one-year communication plan that will serve as a guide to content for various media channels, meetings and publications. This will also help you allocate staff and budget. To create an annual plan, it&rsquo;s necessary to first understand your organization&rsquo;s current strategic direction and plans. For example, if your company is planning to acquire one of its competitors, or to introduce a new benefits program, you will need to decide how those actions break down to key messages for each audience. It&rsquo;s also necessary to understand more subtle and overarching goals and themes that will guide your organization&rsquo;s growth. For instance, the business may require a new focus on innovation and new product development, or more emphasis on building the company&rsquo;s reputation in the community and with local government. Knowing this, you can emphasize certain themes or seek out stories that highlight ways to reach those goals.</font></p>

					- Serve as primary counsel and communications consultant to plant management, with direction from the Director &ndash; PEF Communications with matrix responsibility to the Director &ndash; Media Relations and PEC Communications on plant activities, both internal and external. Work closely with the Plant Vice President to identify and agree upon a comprehensive and strategic site communications plan that reaches all key internal and external stakeholders. Implement and manage the site communications plan in alignment with the fleet priorities.</p>
<p>					- Develop and manage plant&rsquo;s internal communication plans. Support NGG fleet alignment and other initiatives that successfully inform and support employees, link the business strategy and change initiatives and improve internal understanding of Progress Energy programs and activities. Utilize varied communication tools selecting the best option or combination for the intended audience. </p>
<p>					- Develop and manage plant&rsquo;s external communications plan and serve as CR3&rsquo;s site media spokesperson. As appropriate, cultivate effective relationships with local and/or nuclear trade media and take the lead in managing and mitigating potentially negative issues. Coordinate media communications with Director for Corporate Media Relations. Provide issues management communications support for both the plant and the company. On a rotational basis, field the Florida media line for after-hours inquiries. </p>
<p>					- Coordinate with the Emergency Planning and Crisis lead to develop and execute the CR3 crisis communications plan, including weather, nuclear, plant issues and other crises. If a crisis develops at CR3, this person will serve as the lead spokesperson and communications coordinator. Manage the Emergency News Center (ENC) program and provide qualifying training for new staff and quarterly training for all ENC staff. </p>
<p>					- As needed, work with and/or provide support to Community Relations personnel in the Crystal River region (North Coastal). Initiatives may include site tours, community meetings and NRC public meetings.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-family: 'arial', 'sans-serif'; font-size: 9.5pt">JOB RESPONSIBILITIES<br />
					- Serve as primary counsel and communications consultant to plant management, with direction from the Director &ndash; PEF Communications with matrix responsibility to the Director &ndash; Media Relations and PEC Communications on plant activities, both internal and external. Work closely with the Plant Vice President to identify and agree upon a comprehensive and strategic site communications plan that reaches all key internal and external stakeholders. Implement and manage the site communications plan in alignment with the fleet priorities.</p>
<p>					- Develop and manage plant&rsquo;s internal communication plans. Support NGG fleet alignment and other initiatives that successfully inform and support employees, link the business strategy and change initiatives and improve internal understanding of Progress Energy programs and activities. Utilize varied communication tools selecting the best option or combination for the intended audience. </p>
<p>					- Develop and manage plant&rsquo;s external communications plan and serve as CR3&rsquo;s site media spokesperson. As appropriate, cultivate effective relationships with local and/or nuclear trade media and take the lead in managing and mitigating potentially negative issues. Coordinate media communications with Director for Corporate Media Relations. Provide issues management communications support for both the plant and the company. On a rotational basis, field the Florida media line for after-hours inquiries. </p>
<p>					- Coordinate with the Emergency Planning and Crisis lead to develop and execute the CR3 crisis communications plan, including weather, nuclear, plant issues and other crises. If a crisis develops at CR3, this person will serve as the lead spokesperson and communications coordinator. Manage the Emergency News Center (ENC) program and provide qualifying training for new staff and quarterly training for all ENC staff. </p>
<p>					- As needed, work with and/or provide support to Community Relations personnel in the Crystal River region (North Coastal). Initiatives may include site tours, community meetings and NRC public meetings.</p>
<p>					- Organize and conduct plant tours for civic, industry and community groups in coordination with plant management.</span><span style="font-family: 'arial', 'sans-serif'"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
