Manager, Public Relations

Universal Orlando Resort -- home of the world's two most amazing theme parks, Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, the extraordinary Universal CityWalk entertainment center and our three fabulous hotels, PORTOFINO BAY, HARD ROCK and ROYAL PACIFIC -- is currently seeking the following professional to join our team.

Manages development, implementation and evaluation of assigned public relations projects and all corresponding media materials.  Primarily responsible for managing media relationships in assigned markets or against assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Generates media interest in UO from Florida and key select outer markets.  Seeks out and builds productive, credible relationships with media.
• Acquires media attention on specific UO events and initiatives through the development of special media events and helps track and report on media coverage.
• Develops and executes creative print and broadcast story ideas - and writes and produces press releases and b-roll.
• Creates PR plans and assists in development of PR strategy: manages Public Relations team members through creation, implementation and follow-up of special events and related activities.
• Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Public Relations, Journalism or Communications required.
•  5-7 Years experience in print or broadcast media, entertainment and/or public relations required.  1-3 Years management experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
