Entry Guidelines
1. SUBMIT TWO COPIES OF EACH ENTRY; One copy will be used for judging purposes and will not be returned. Winning entries will be displayed at the awards banquet. The winning and all other entries may be picked up at the close of the evening. Entries that are not picked up at the banquet will be destroyed.

2. THE ENTRY FORM, WORK PLAN, AND WORK SAMPLE MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED TOGETHER. Make it easy for judges to handle and review your entry. Be sure work samples are easily identifiable and properly labeled as needed.

3. WORK PLANS MUST MEET THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS. The work plan is a critical part of your entry. It must abide by the following requirements.

Work plans must be typed on 8.5 by 11 inch paper. Minimum font size is 10 points. Minimum margin is one half of an inch on all sides. Use single column (paragraph) format.

Work plan(s) must be limited to two pages; text may be single spaced.

Top of first page of work plan must include:
- Entrant's Name: Person most responsible for the entry.
- Organization's Name: Organization for which the work was done.
- Category and Subcategory: List the category/subcategory for your entry.
- Title of Entry: Choose a name that clearly describes your entry.
- Brief Description: Provide a one or two line description of your entry.

The work plan also must include a narrative summary that clearly describes and specifically addresses the following:

  • Need/opportunity: Describe the organization and the specific challenges that required a communication solution.
  • Intended audience(s): Identify primary audience and any secondary and tertiary audiences. Specify (to the extent possible) demographics, key characteristics, the audiences’ mindset, what they think and why they should care.
  • Goals/objectives: "Goals" do not need to be directly measurable; however, "objectives" must be realistic and measurable.
  • Solution summary: Tell us what you did and why you did it. State the key messages. The solution should demonstrate your approach to problem solving.
  • Result/outcome: Results must be legitimate, thorough and convincing. Every result should be linked to an objective. Measurement should demonstrate project outcomes, not outputs.
