Corporate responsibility: The green communications challenge

What does corporate social responsibility mean to you? Start with the fact that two out of three customers say they would switch brands if another brand of similar quality supported a good cause.

As consumer values evolve, so do business opportunities. Now communicators have an opportunity to make an impact. But to succeed in this area, we must speak to customers emotionally by connecting to their values and concerns about the environment.

When you attend this program, you’ll learn what green communication means and get answers to these questions:

  • How do we get it right?
  • What are the risks of doing nothing?
  • With social media changing the rules, what’s the best strategy going forward?

Frances Roberts, senior communicator and author of IABC Toronto’s "Green Guide for Communicators" and KPMG’s (Canada) "2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Report," will provide the answers. Roberts also is an award-winning documentary maker on the topic of environmentalism. She will offer insights, tips and solutions on going green with your corporate communications.
