JAMES G. MARZANO JOINS AAPS AS DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING
June 8, 2009: Tampa, Fla. — James G. Marzano has joined the American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc. (AAPS), the governing body of the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS), as Director of Public Relations & Marketing.
“Jim will develop and direct public relations programs, media outreach efforts and image advertising to promote physician board certification and the association,” said William J. Carbone, Chief Executive Officer. “Jim will direct and coordinate effective marketing plans for products and services. He will also direct and oversee a campaign to create a strong brand platform for board certified physicians, referred to as Diplomates,” said Carbone.Marzano, a seasoned communications professional, served as a corporate spokesperson, community relations strategist and PR/media consultant since relocating to Tampa Bay in 1986. Prior professional experience included serving as a chamber of commerce staff executive and radio broadcaster in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio.
A member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), Marzano earned accredited business communicator (ABC) recognition from the organization. He is a graduate of Youngstown State University where he majored in education with a speech communication emphasis.
