Our next event: Sharing Negative News: A Progress Energy Case Study Join us at the Tampa Club on January 20, 2010 for a lunch program featuring Suzanne Grant of Progress Energy. All of us have to communicate negative news at some point in our careers. How do you plan for delivering and mitigating the impact of news that your stakeholders will probably view as "bad"? How do you prepare internal and external communications? Suzanne Grant of Progress Energy will share her experience in planning and delivering communications related to her company's plans to build a nuclear plant and its impact on customer rates, among other pressing issues.
Suzanne is the lead communications specialist with Progress Energy Florida. A media relations professional with more than 20 years of experience working in news organizations, public relations agencies and nonprofit organizations, she is responsible for developing and executing the external communications strategy for the second largest electric utility in the state. She joined Progress Energy in the summer of 2008, just as the company began to experience a "perfect storm of consumer unrest" — a series of pricing changes and complex regulatory issues during an unprecedented economic decline and housing crisis. Suzanne will discuss the company’s approach to meet Florida’s energy needs through energy-efficiency, alternative energy and state-of-the-art plants. Register here.

I'm looking forward to this great session!
