The IABC Tampa Bay Board invites members and friends to drop by The Pub Tampa Bay the afternoon of March 25. We’ll be there from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. enjoying some Happy Hour appetizers and draft beers. This is your opportunity to meet other members in person and engage in conversations about any topics on your mind. The Board welcomes any ideas for chapter programs and events. Or just hang out with us. We’re keeping this informal.
Starting today, new or lapsed members will have their join or reinstatement fee of US$40 waived for the month of March. In addition, they will be entered into a drawing to win FREE REGISTRATION to an IABC online workshop of their choice – a prize valued up to US$1,160! The new or renewed member will have six months to use his or her prize.
Please join us on Friday, March 13, from 3-4 p.m. for a webinar focused on influencing your audience.
Ken O’Quinn will share what behavioral scientists have found to be reasons why people change their opinion or agree to certain requests. He will present techniques you can use when you craft messages for a written communication or for a speech so that you influence the reader’s thought process. Here are a few highlights:
• How to open a persuasive message or speech when the audience is resistant or indifferent
• How to position information for maximum impact
• Why your credibility is essential to your persuasiveness and what you can do to strengthen your image if the audience does not have a favorable view of you
• How to use three principles of behavioral psychology to induce people to accept your point of view
Congratulations to new and renewing IABC Tampa Bay members, especially to Mary Heckert who is celebrating her 5th year with IABC and to Jim Marzano who is celebrating his 28th year! We are grateful for your contributions to our chapter over the years and hope you will be with us for many years to come.
Please join us Wednesday, February 11, 2015, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Eastern for a webinar to learn ways to maximize your efforts at meetings and events. Ron Springer, president and executive producer at Esprit Productions, will help you come up with ideas on how to communicate, develop trust, and better engage today’s multi-generational audiences.
His session will highlight how to:
– Make an impact
– Create content
– Expand your reach
